Camp Light Co C. 3d R.I.A
Beaufort S.C. March 11th/'63
Dear Colonel,
I learn from Lieut Morrow that you sent me a note requesting that Sergeant Jackson might come to Hilton Head. I can only say that the note has never been received and I send Jackson down to day as you wished. Walker reported all right and I am much obliged. I received a letter from Rogers. he wished to be remembered to you and I will bring down his letter, the latter part of the week if you are still at the Head. Not dismounted yet.
Truly yours,
C R Brayton
