Marilda Gleason (maiden name unknown) was born on June 12, 1806, in present-day Canada. She eventually immigrated to America and settled in Pennsylvania. She married Joseph G. Gleason, and they had at least four children: Joseph, born around 1841; Lewis, born around 1843; George, born around 1847; and Sarah, born around 1850. She also helped raise Joseph’s three children from a previous marriage. They lived in Randolph, Pennsylvania, and by 1850, they owned $1,600 of real estate. Her husband died in September 1857. She remained in Randolph, and by 1860, she owned $2,000 of real estate and $700 of personal property. By 1880, she was living in her son George’s household in Randolph. She died sometime after 1880.
