My Deare Child
your letter to day and was very glad to heare from you and that you was all well But the letter I think was Isabl writing and verey well for her. god bless her little fingars may she ever be a dutifull child to her mother you have not said aney thing about Euphemia and her childe nor about Alice and Case Weather thay are ded or alive when you write I want you to write about them all I am glad that Aby is better and I hope that she will remain so and she will if she ondley take ceare of her self Eliza you say is gon to work some wheare but wheare I do not know for I could not make it out. you will persive that we have not left the / Barricks yet we are all redday waiting for convayanc witch will redey in a few days I think I have not recived my pay yet but I think I shall have it in few days and then I will send it home I wrote a letter to Case and Alice some time ago and have not recived an anser from them I would like to heere from them verey much when we leve hear I will let you know if I can the day we start and also when we get to our place of destination let it be where it will and if we have a battle and I get of alive I will let you know as soon as possable after its over I sill remain in good helth and I thank my god for it. I have / not as yet called on the docter I sent news paper Abram some time ago and I sent yesterday one to David H Divin and one to J. W. Low I should like to know weather thay have got them or not I have sent my Sergt Warrent to you and a magazine the warrent I want you to keep for it may be of some use to you and the rest of you you may get it put in a frame if you are a mind to for I think a grate deel of it I must come to a close for its a geting late and my paper is a geting scant so good night and may god bless you all is the wish of your Father Thos H Mason Segt

anser as soon as you can for I shall want hear from you tell Samuel that I think of him verey often and the same to Isabel and tell them thay must be good children and do as thay are bid and send them somthing one thease days I have seen a man heare to day from Fallsburgh and the said man was name Anthoney Bush and I did not know him I thought I new his face so I inqured and I found it to him But I was sergt of guard so I did not speak to him but I think I shall see him tomorrow and then I will have a talk with him no more now good night and I will go to my bunk from your Father Thos H Mason Sergt
