Deare Child I recieved your letter on the 4th and was verrey glad to heare from you you delay writing as soon as you recive my letters I was quite uneasey a bout the check that I sent I did not know weather you had it or not being you did not write before a letter from home cheares me mutch though I can not write as often as I should like to you donot say mutch about the children but I supose thay are well, as I recived a letter from Abram the day after I recived yours, and he tell me that James is working for John Kortwrits this summer and that Hulday recives his pay to find him in clothes and school him if this is so I do not / understand it it may be all wright so I want you to write to me and let me know how it is I cannot write mutch this time for I a letter from your Uncal George and one from your aunt loasea yesterday and I have got to anser them to day your uncal George is in York Town Hospitle yet but is geting better
 
you must tell Eliza and Harriet Aby that I will write them as soon as I can get time and paper and envilopes witch are scarce just now and I donot know wheare I will get envelopes from to inclose the letters I am writing from I do not know But I will find some in the some wheare by paying four times theare worth 
 
Tell them to be good girls and thay will heare from me if I live let me know if henery stays with Grant yet and how he gets a long
 
I wrote a letter to Case Kortwrite and I have not recived an anser from it write and let me know how thay are I exspect that before you recive Horrace W. Low will be home and I sopose that William and Charles Yongs are home by this time for cince the battle of Four Oaks thay have not been seen.
 
Write as soon as you can in to this letter I must conclude with my love to you all and may God bless you all is the sinceare wish of your Father

P.S. I send inclosed some turnip seed witch you may sow to see what kind thay are Give my respects J. W. Low David H Divine and Thos VanGosbeck and aunt Etey and tell her that I am well as the times and sercumstance will promit its verrey warm heare to day Corn wheare it is planted is verrey fine and so is the wheat but theare has been a quanity destroyed and a grate quanty that is waisting for the want of gethering But that is a verrey small porton of the waist that is made in the army of horses wagons mules and other things
