Its bin some time sinc I received your welcom letter & it has bin imposible for me to write you before I was glad to hear from you I hav not as mutch time to write now as I used to hav I used to hate to hav to leave off a letter after I began it But I hav got ust to it this summer This is the fourt time that I hav taken my pen to answer you & its night now & I have my horse to take care of I hav had some things to do evry day for the past two weeks Yester day I had a drunken man to take care of & thats a job that I dont want evry day its the first sinc I left Camp Curtain
We hav verey cold wether for the time of year It raines here now & I fear that we will hav a spel of wether Its not verey still here more or less fireing at all hours I did not hav time to go to election & I dont no as they would let me vote if I had I hav no papers to show that I hav pade a tax & I dont no as I hav within two years I hate to loos my vote but if I do it wont amount to mutch I persume some think that I will vote for Mc seeing I said that I would not for AB
eney one that thinks me a Copperhed is mistaken The bigest thing is that I told Davison that I reenlisted just for the money I cant get over that I hate to call a man a liar but that is a black one if he said so
Oct 14th Mother I will try & finish my letter to day yesterday I had to wash & to day I am most crazy I hav the ear ake & I hav sutch a cold that I can hardly breath I hav just got a letter from Harriet this morning I got one from Ester yesterday & God onley knows when I can ans them I hav to go to the brigade to day & I hav to hurey this I dont know what to write I shal make a short letter of this & write soon again I should thought that Jimey mite hav made them boots as I orderd them I dont want them sent to me if I cant wear them Harriet can keep them if he forgot the botums of them I wont hav them eney way for I wanted them sowd / if Harriet sends them gloves by mail she must Direct them the same as a letter I shal be glad when I am in winter quarters & I dont hav quite as mutch running as I hav for the last four months
