Jane Palmer (maiden name unknown) was born on February 19, 1814, in North Salem, New York. She married Comfort Palmer, and they had at least seven children: Abner, born on September 2, 1836; Alexander, born around 1839; Daniel, born around 1841; Halcyon, born around 1844; George, born around 1846; James, born around 1850; and Mary, born around 1851. They lived in New York until the 1840s, when they moved to Preston, Pennsylvania. Her husband worked as a farmer, and by 1850, they owned $1,500 of real estate. A decade later, they owned $3,000 of real estate and $100 of personal property. Her husband died in the 1860s. By 1870, she was living with relatives Hannah and Elizabeth Palmer in North Salem. A decade later, she was living in her daughter Mary’s household in Preston, and she was working as a “servant.” She died sometime after 1880.
