Harriet Palmer Little (maiden name: Palmer) was born around 1819 in Vernon, Connecticut, to Elliot and Anna Palmer. She grew up and attended school in Vernon. She married William B. Little in 1841, and they had at least six children: Myron, born around 1843; Hubert, born around 1849; Alonzo, born around 1851; Elbert, born around 1854; Prescott, born around 1857; and Payson, born around 1859. They lived in Columbia, Connecticut, and her husband worked as a farmer. By 1860, they owned $4,000 of real estate and $1,100 of personal property. A decade later, they owned $5,000 of real estate and $2,900 of personal property. Her husband died on December 16, 1897. She went blind in the early 1900s, and by 1910, she was living in her son Alonzo’s household in Columbia. She died there on September 25, 1910.
