Harriet P. Little to Unknown, undated
Hig noon,
The mail goes out at 2 oclock and this must go
I called to see Mrs Richardson last night found her very low breathing very short. Congestion of the lungs I suppose is the cause no one thinks that she will live long, probably caused by taking cold but no one knows how. She is a good woman and will be sadly missed in her family of 4 children 3 sons and a daughter, as well as by the whole neighborhood.
Mother got up as usual, sat up about 2 hours. she is now on the bed she says what does ail me to be so tired and weak. she has had her reason well ever since you was here. she says she did not understand a great deal that brother E said. she does not catch the words as she used too and she grows more and more deaf I fear sometimes that she will lose her hearing entirely I am very glad you came to see her
