In regard to your son J C Barton as near as I can learn he lived seven days after he was wounded he is reported dead by the Surgeon that was left in charge.
As to his things I know but little about them But I think he left them in care of some one in Charleston who it was I dont know
His Final Statements has not been made out yet. The Co. Books is all left back. as soon as they get to the Regment I / will see that they are attended to The Co. Books and Muster rools are in verry bad shape at present in consequence of the savere campaign that we have had this summer and it is not dune yet. But I hope we will get a chance to rest and post up the Books before long
Give Mr Crawford my best respects and tell him I am well.
