Charles Edward Warren
Charles Edward Warren was born around 1843 in Massachusetts to Edward Warren and Cornelia Stone. His father was a farmer who owned $3,500 of real estate and $1,710 of personal property. He grew up and attended school in Northborough, Massachusetts, and by 1860, he was working as a farmer. He enlisted in the Union army on July 12, 1861, and he mustered in as a private in Company C of the 15th Massachusetts Infantry later that day. The regiment took part in the Seven Days’ Battles and the Battle of Antietam. He received a “severe wound in [the] left leg” at Antietam on September 17, 1862, and he died in Keedysville, Maryland, on October 2, 1862.
