I sit down to ans your kind letter that I received the 21st and was very glad to hear from you
Josiah better than I expected he was out in camp for two hours yesterday his wound has got most well I saw Thomas he is well as useual
Well I suspose you had a good time Thanksgiving I will tell you how I spent the day at ten oclock we had services and at half past eleven I got a pass and went down to the 20th / I stayed there untill three oclock then I came back to camp and our Company had oysters for supper which you better beleive was something that we do not get every day I have not tasted of an Oyster before since we left Massachusetts
Our Col gave each Company five dollars and as our Company bought oysters I beleive that they had turkeys at the 20th.
I should like to be hear at your singing school for I think you must have a good time we dont have so good times hear as I used to have in Massachusetts
but I beleive I had as lives be hear as at work for Cyrus Fay Esq.
Well I well tell you now about the Country I like it very well if they dont take us into Virgina when I went over there I though the country was not very pleasant so I came back I thought if I liked I should stay but I did not like
I gess next time we go we shall / like well enough to stay for the leaves will be off of the trees.
we expect to moove to winter quarters soon but we dont know whare we shall go
There is quite a number of boys in our Regiment that have gone home one is Corporal James F Burges and Otis Osgood of Clinton perhaps you may know them. we are haveing a grand time of it to day at a game of foot Ball but this afternoon we are goin to have General review there will be the whole of the Brigade hear there is six or more regmt in this brigade
I had a letter from Willie the other day he says that there is not much goin on there I wish he was out hear he wanted to go come out hear but the folks do not want him to I must close by bidding you good Buy (write again Lizzie) From your true friend and School Mate Charles E Warren /
