Jackson W. Scott Lanterman
Jackson W. Scott Lanterman was born on April 11, 1848, in Illinois to Peter and Dolly Lanterman. His father was a farmer who owned $4,000 of real estate by 1860. The family lived in Sangamon County, Illinois, until the 1850s, when they moved to Elkhart, Illinois. By 1870, he was working as a farm laborer. He married Huldah Leach around 1881, and they had at least six children: Robert, born around 1882; William, born around 1884; Earl, born around 1887; Ritchie, born around 1889; Howard, born around 1892; and Raymond, born around 1895. He died on February 12, 1895.
