Your favor of the 19th was read to day, informing us, also the family of Mr Bailey of his death it was unexpected and sad news to his large family consisting of a wife and seven children, who arrived here from Canada, only last thursday evening. he Bailey had expected to have met them here when he got his furlo from Springfield. he had been working for us about eight months, when he enlisted for your Reg. all though but a few months in the States he prooved his patriotism and sealed with his life blood the soil of his adoption. in behalf of this afflicted family I return to you there thanks for your kindness / and sympathy in their loss and affliction and loss of a husband and father. The family is poor all that you can save of his affects and back pay if any will be of help to them. Accept my kindest regards and best wishes for your safe return to the tender embraces of your loveing family
