Edmund Hubbard was born around 1804 in Holden, Massachusetts, to John and Lydia Hubbard. He married Sally Goodsell Miner on November 7, 1828, and they had at least six children: Albert, born on November 7, 1833; William, born around 1836; Melintha, born around 1839; Elizabeth, born around 1841; Ervin, born around 1846; and Sarah, born around 1849. They lived in Windsor, Massachusetts, and Hubbard worked as a carpenter. By 1850, he owned $950 of real estate. A decade later, he and his wife owned $250 of real estate and $200 of personal property, and by 1870, they owned $700 of real estate. His wife died on December 24, 1874, and he passed away of stomach cancer in Windsor on October 6, 1879.
