Francis J. Parker to John A. Andrew, 27 June 1861
No 67 Federal St
Boston June 27 1861

Hon J. A. Andrew

Dear Sir.
I arrived yesterday by the Europa entirely recovered strong & well and desirous to be made useful in the cause of my country. Will you do me the favor to indicate to me the direction in which my service can be most valuable.—

I base this upon the expectation that I shall serve upon my own charge and without pay.

Should you have no occasion for me & failing your reply I shall feel at liberty after a week hence to seek employment in another quarter. I mention this that you may not feel obliged to reply if more urgent matters occupy your attention.

Very truly Yours         Frans J Parker
