My Dear Sister. As I have nothing policular at hands to day I shall write you a fiew lines to inform you that I am well at preasant The rest of the Boys are all well I believe. I recieved your letter the other day and answered it. But as I have some things that I want to send you I shall write again. Lieut Kiersey went up to Murfreesboro and some of the ladies of that city gave him some roots of a very nise flower and he wanted Mr Dorsey to take them home for him but he had so / mutch to take that he could not take them So I will send you a piece of the roots in a letter. I expect that they will be so dry again they get there that they will dy. But it wont cost mutch. Kirsey said the naime of it was the golden candel stick. it blooms every month in the year hear, and is a very pretty thing

We have bin in a nother battle which was a bout as hot as perryvill. We fought the Rebels at Milton from 9 oclock until about 1 or to oclock they had about 3 men to our one but we whiped them bad. I wrote all about it in the other letter / so I shall not say any more about that at preasant. If you get this letter I want you to let me know
Give my love to all and tell them to write to me Give my best regards to my Parents and the rest of the folks at home and reserve a portion for your self
