Dear Sister—
—I recieved a long expected letter from you this morning, being the first one that I have had from you this year.

Your letter found me in good health and spirits (but not ardent spirits) For that is one thing that the army hear is not disgraced with. And I for one am glad of it for of all things that is disgusting in an army with plenty of whisky / is the most disgusting. Mollie you allways called me wild but I have bin intirely ashamed of some characters that I have seen since I have been in the Army but enoughf about that. Well I have nothing new to write about at preasant. We get no news hear of any importance I have not seen but two late papers since I have been in this camp so you can judg how mutch news we get in camp hear. But I guess we will get more mail now the cars runs clear through to Chattanooga since the larg bridg was finished near this place there has bin a train in hearing nearly all the time since the bridg was compleated.

You was talking about sending me some papers by mail but I dont expect they will get / through. some one will take them and read them before they get through so I dont think it worth while for you to trouble your self mutch to start them. You said in your letter that Cornelia & Miss Sturt was singing the Edon of love while you was writing. tell them to sing it once for me and just imagine I hear them. You wrote in your letter that you thought I must be suffering for the want of boots. I am not suffering for boots but have none but I have a good pair of shoes. But if you have any boots to spair you may send me a pair not that I am suffering for a pair of boots. As for E. D. Kiersey bringing them to me I think / he will bring them at least he told me he would bring them or any thing you wanted to send

Well Mollie you said in your letter that you forgot to finish your last letter and did not sign your name to it and I think you made the same mistake in writing this one for there is no name to this as I can find out but there is no diferance in the name especially when I know it without.

Well Mollie I will finish my letter on another sheet as I shall not have room on this—
