Martha Hudson to Mary A. Adams, 2 July 1881
San Antonio July 2nd 1881

Dear Aunt
I enclose a letter from Eddie please advice him what you truly think best, am positive he will act accordingly, he in a letter to me says will be guided by my instinct, but you know how limited my expiriences are, therefore dread to express my opinion. I am bitterly opposed to partnership but if he can not pay his partner out perhaps things can be aranged to be same in case any thing happens Mr Knox will leave next week & is willing to take us but Mr Braden Sr is so oppose to my going so soon since I am improved, that I realy do not know what to do. Eddie writes for me to come & if I can without hard feelings will do so. let us hear from you soon. I have not called on Loupie because when I go in town I do not remain any length of time hoping you are all well as I am

I remain as ever your loving niece
Mattie Braden
