My Dear Grand daughter
I have been thinking some time about writing to you but have been so bad off that I have put it of from time to time thinking that I would get better but have come to the conclusion that I will never be any better am about the same as when I left Texas we had a very nice trip were only four days on the road I was very near worn out when got here the motion of the cars made me sea sick so that I could not eat on the cars but am so glad that I am here with my boys / so that I can have them to wait on me Mart and [?] both have very nice places here and doing very well have so much nice fruit peaches apples pears grapes oranges and almost every kind of fruit that you can think of I am so sorry that you were not at home when we came through I did want to see so badly before leaving Texas
Give my love to your Ma and Loupie Bill and all of them tell Billy to write to me I would like so much to hear from him when you write to Sallie tell her that she must write to me would write to her but am so bad off that / I do not feel like writing to any one you must write soon to me write me all of the news what you are all doing and so on direct your letter to
