Daniel S. Donelson to Allen A. Bursley, 17 April 1862
Corinth Miss Apr 17th 1862
Lt Bursley
Sir,
The note addressed to you was one simply of inquiry & not intended as personally offensive.
Deeming it my duty to inform Genl Breckinridge in the event I could not furnish him the desired report, the orderly stated to me that you refused to sign the order, & said that you would not furnish the report This much as to business.
As regards the spirit manifested in your note I have simply to state that you can determine upon the style of our future intercourse it being a matter of perfect indifference to me.
Very Respfly
Yr Obdt Svt
D S Donelson
