Allen A. Bursley to Daniel S. Donelson, 18 April 186X
Watson Battery Apr. 18th
Lt. D. S. Donelson
           Present

Sir,
I have recd. your communication of this morning stating that your orderly reported to you that I refused to furnish the list required yesterday. I did nothing of the kind, but somewhat annoyed by other matters did remark to Col. Beltzhoover that I would have a man specially detailed to write such lists as this was the fourth or fifth report of the kind that had been required of the Battery. It not having / occurred to me that you had been misinformed, I could see no excuse for your addressing me as you did, and unfortunately placed the worst construction upon your language.

I regret that I have unintentionally done you injustice and withdraw any offensive remark I have made

Very Respectfully
Your Obdt. Servt.
A. A. Bursley
