I have just been releived from duty as Commander of this Brigade by Brig. Genl. Herbert. And of course will have to releive my Staff Officers. But Sir I cannot part with one, without regret, who has always performed his official duties with as much accuracy and promptness as yourself. And while you are quite young, you have but to continue in present habits of morality and industry to soon fill a prominent place in life. With many wishes for your prosperity, I still
