My Dear Madam
                                    I have just learned the sad fate of your dear boy, and hasten to forward you the notes of Mr John H. Taylor with whom you are well acquainted. Mr Taylor is living ¾ of a mile east of my house at Esqr Wm. T. Bonners & will as he states have the remains at Esqr Bonners this evening. His body was found about 6 miles from my house by Mr Wilroys little son [torn] the bearer to bear the awful tidings to you.
           
If you have any need of my kind offices please advise me & I am & will be ever ready to oblige you.

P.S. You had best bring a coffin or case a very rough box is all that can be procured in this vicinity
