I hereby certify that I was present at the time the remains of Daniel S Donelson, were received from Camp Creek Desoto Co Miss. and that I examined the body of said Donelson and found that he was killed by a gun shot wound, and that the ball from which struck him in back of the head, above the occipital ridge, and near the articulation of the temporal & occipital bones the ball probably passing out near the forehead in front, shattering the skull & The examination was made on the 29th day of April, 1864, and from the clothing hat &c. I am satisfied that the remains were those of Daniel S Donelson.

The body of Danl S Donelson was found 2½ miles north of Pleasant Hill Post office, or Robinsons Crossroads near the house of Wilroy on Majr Rowletts land 2½ miles south west of Olive Branch on the Pigeon roost road ½ mile from the Mount Pleasant and Hernando road, 10 miles north of Pounders Ford, 18 miles from Memphis. This is the most direct by road south of Memphis to Byhalia
