Vienna Feb 25th 1865
well Lan I will now write a few lines to you to day. we are all well as ever father has gone to viset Vernon to day aunt Mary has gone home but she is comeing back to knight Ferdinand has enlisted he went last monday and Sell went to Ferd wanted to get into the batery but they would not take him and he has gone into a new company it is going to savanah it is goin to join 12th Me it is stationed there E M tebbets has enlisted to in the same F M whittier H whittier and A.W Little by golly. our school is done it finished yesterday father went to augusta last thursday newton whittier and george Neal went down to get into the state guard but it was full and they came back. Net Davis got a letter from Sell he was in Portland he was well it is now 5 oclock and I have got to milk. I will write some more to morrow
Va Feb 25th '65
we have just ate our beans should you like some. father got a letter from Lewis C he is well he said he was going to have a furlough to go up to NH to see his uncle. Josie targer is hear now Daniel Neal has got home and got married to hannah Cumines. geoge Hall is married to Calle Brown.
it rains to day. Soper is mowing now with the old rake we harnessed the little colt yesterday J. Cook went to the depot yesterday with a load of potatoes father and Mary went to farmington the other day.
I cant think much more to write now. I would like to see you to day why dont you get a furlough and come home
write as soon as you get this. if you can read this you will have hard work to I guess
