Farmington May 12th 1865
 
I received a line from you last night and was very glad to here that you found Seldon as well as you did I hope he will get in a short time so you can bring him home. I think if he does get so you can you had better come by Farmington and stop here over night it is less distance from the depot home than it is from Readfield and give him a nights rest we have heard that the 4 Maine Battery is on its way home and another account sais that they have gone to Washington I wish you will see if they are in Washington and if so / drop us a line
 
Lorenzo Dow is dead he had enlisted and gon in to camp at Augusta and died with the Diptheria
