Sarah Martin
Sarah Martin (maiden name: Fales) was born around 1816 in Massachusetts to Abner and Sally Fales. She married Benjamin Martin in Dedham, Massachusetts, on January 24, 1836, and they had at least six children: Kingsley, born around 1839; John, born around 1841; Benjamin, born around 1844; Gideon, born around 1849; Sarah, born around 1852; and Ella, born around 1855. The family lived in Rehoboth, Massachusetts, and her husband worked as a farmer. By 1850, they owned $2,900 of real estate. She and Benjamin may have separated in the late 1850s, as every subsequent census records them living in separate households. By 1870, she was living in her daughter Sarah’s household in Dighton, Massachusetts. She returned to Rehoboth sometime in the 1870s, and she died of heart disease in Norton, Massachusetts, on January 26, 1892.
