Abisha Doolittle
Abisha Doolittle was born on May 1, 1801, in Middletown, Connecticut, to Amos Doolittle and Margaret Graves. He married Mary Kelley around 1824, and they had at least three children: Julia, born around 1825; Lewis, born around 1836; and John, born around 1840. They lived in Middletown, and Doolittle worked as a manufacturer. In 1850, he owned $300 of real estate. A decade later, the family owned $2,000 of real estate and 2,850 of personal property. By 1870, he owned $4,000 of real estate and $2,500 of personal property. His wife Mary died around 1871, and by 1880, he was living in his daughter Julia’s household in Middletown. He died there on April 29, 1886.
