dear uncle
i take my pen in hand this morning to write you a few lines to inform you that i am well at present and I hope that these few lines may find you the same
 
well i must inform you that george is very sick he haint been well for a long time he went to the hospitle on friday and has been very sick ever since and aint espected to live long if there aint a change soon he is very flighty and dont now anybody i went to see him yesterday but he ditent now / me he has got the tifoid fever there is four of our Company got the feaver and ar all weary sick
 
the weather is weary warm here now
 
no more at present
           
i will write soon again
if he dont get better
