Dear sisters Isebell and Ellen
I now sit down to write you of a few lines to let you know that I am well and hope this will find you injoying the same blessing I receved a letter from father yesterday of the 18th and was glad to know you was all well then I wrote a letter to george and James yesterday but I have not hird from george for a few days but when hed he wrote he was giting a long very well father thinks his wounds may be worse than he say but he must not give him self any truble a bout that be cause when there is anything the mater we will let you know how it is
there is now news here at present every thing is very still we have to work on the fortifications we was called out at 4 A.M. this morning to go and chop that is the first of that bisness we have don. our Col just came back last night he has not been with us since he got wounded on the 27th and we was all very glad to see him with us again. hoping this war may soon be over and we may all meat again I will close write soon from your ever mond affectionate Brother

P S I wrote to James yesterday and derected to Depoyster but I canot tell if that is writt or not for I wrote one some time since and derected it the same way and I never got any answer from it if you will let me know what is the rite adress I would like it I had a letter from Mrs Church some time since and she said that Mrs Oliver requested her to ask me if I seen whare John was buried or not tell her that I was call out in a hurry and I did not have time to write any more at that time if you will tell her that there was a grate many buried on the batelfield without any head stones and I canot tell whether I seen his grave or not.
