Dear Wife.
I would of wrote sooner but I did not know when I was a going or where We have not drawn our bounty and we will not untill we are musterd in. You nedent send me a letter untill I write agen for I do not know whether the letter will follow me or not. I would like to of came home but I did not know when we would leave for I want to draw my bounty the same time that the others did. We had a large fire here on saturday morning about 4 Oclock. It burned up a Captain and Leutenant and another man was badly burned but I think he will get over it. I think that we will start for our regiment on thursday next. I expressed my close to you from Camp Yater. I suppose that you / got them safe. I forgot to mention that we had a surmon preached yesturday by a man that is agoing into our regiment he preached about half an hour. I would have sent my likeness but I had no money. But I will send it to you as soon as I get some money and I want you do the same. I can think of nothink more to say so I will close. yours truely.
