I concluded to try to talk to you for a short time this morning and would say we got home safe & found the folks all well and our place & things as they should be Alexn had left Cleveland for Camp Denison the boys made him a present of a sworde & a militerry saddle that cost $70 I do not know expence of the sworde his wife went down to camp and made him a visit of two weeks she borded within one half mile of camp. she left for home the same day that he and his company left for Tenisee we had nothing from him since (he had received the commision of 1st Lieutenant) & is Quarter master of the company. we received a letter soon after we came home from Rachel She was then well we have been looking for some time for a letter from her as yet none. I have wrote to Wm Carlton Brother Grover & to Adaline Vanroy expecting to hear from the word from Aunt Betsy Carlton we received a letter from Wm Carlton he said in his no news from Trumbull Co. on the receipt of this & give us the news of the neighbourhood tell us how Mr Seifts folks Fullers Mrs Everett Kings folks is & all the tribe of Levi & Judia & all the rest of the folks
I came home with a hard cold & it sticks to me yet I have not pretended to do enny work save doing my chores. your Aunt sais she joines with in sending love to your Father Mother Brother and your self & all who may enquire for us nomore write soon yours in haste & in truth Wm & Blairs folks all well

PS Maris B Oviett and his two boys left for Washington a few days after we left only the boys & young Minor hired in Cleveland before starting for teemsters for the army Sherman the second boy was taken with the Tifoid fevor about the 10th of Jan. has been daingersly sick last account a little better if he lives they will look for him home in the last of March
