Susan Grey Miller
Susan Grey Miller (maiden name: Walton) was born around 1821 in Tennessee. She married Hugh R. Miller, and they had at least two children: George, born around 1839; and Edwin, born around 1843. Her husband was a lawyer and Whig politician who served in the state legislature in the early 1840s. They lived in Pontotoc County, Mississippi, and by 1850, they owned $12,000 of real estate. A decade later, they owned $19,180 of personal property. Her husband served as colonel of the 42nd Mississippi Infantry, and he died at Gettysburg in July 1863. She died in Cumberland County, Virginia, on January 11, 1864.
