In Camp Near Falmouth Mar 15/63

I recieved a letter from you on the 13th but yesterday I went a visiting over to the 33 Reg and thire I saw all of the boys of Capt Browns company although he is Magor of the Reg at this time but he was glad to see me and I had quite a good time with him and all of the rest of the boys from Taunton and Mr Holms the dancing school master was thire he belongs to the band and scence I last wrote you I have been over to the 7th Reg and thire I had a verry good time thire has a grate meny desurted from the 7th and shame on all such men if thay are caught I hope that thay will infourse the law upon them without any moursy So you see / we are in our old camp as yet but how long we shall stay here know one can tell for this is unsurting business for we are as liable to be cauled to duty at knight as day and in plesant or stormy weather. My health is a good deal better then it was and I am getting along nicely just now with the exceptions of my cough which I think I shall always be trobled with it more or less but it is soon comming warm weather and then we shall not be so much exposed for we have had some verry cold snapps in these reagons
Sarah you wrote me about comming home thire is nothing in this wirld that would please me more then to see you and our little ons but I cannot come gust now but think / if nothing befauls me I shall come home this faull but if you have meny such dreams as the one you wrote about I think I shall have to come home before so please wright the state of your health from time to time and dreams also and I will compair them to geather and may come to the conclusion to come home sooner then faull Capt Hatch will start for Taunton to morrow I wish our pay master was hear so I could send you home some money but he has not come yet so you will have to wate a while longer but Sarah I want you to send me another box and if Joskay Buttington works in Taunton I want him to make a can / and sodder me up a qt of sherry rum in a tin of his own making send me a boiled ham ketchup horse readches cake and some canded belony saueges and all such stuf as well keep and a iron spoon butter cheese 1 Bot whisky bitters and any thing you think will come to me good go to Peter and tell him I told you how to send the rum have it sealed up in a tin can and you may send any thing else you want to I hope the chrildren are well and all the rest of yours and mine I think you had better live whire you are without Father or I make some change in our business and then it will be time enuf for if I should come home I should have to look up somthing to do Joseph
