Mother
I received your letter last nigt with much pleasure I went down to the post office to see if their was a letter for me and I tell you I was as tickle as a boy with a new top and I sat down on the counter and read it I could not wait till I got home it was after 8 o clock before I got back the post master sayed he guesst their was some thing in that for it was so large I am well and tuff as a bear I have not been sick a day since I came here and hope I shant 
 
I have just returned from meeting and I thought I would answer your letter I went to meeting and they dident have only half a day meeting so I went to John Bordens and took diner I tell you I had a good talk with them about Jay folks I like to go their for it seams like going down to your house they ar nice folks they told me to come down their and stay all night some Satterday night O mother I have got friends here as well as their for they all appear friendly but they dont seam as near of corse as you do but I guess I can get a long six month and then I shall come home and see you if nothing hapens 
 
unkle Orens wife says if I want any sewing done she will do it so dont worry about me for I am just as well of here as there I am so fraid you will worry so to make yourself sick dont lay awake nights thinking I am sick or something els for I am steddeer here than I would be there and if I am sick I have got friends here if it is the Lords will for me to be sick I shall be content with it for I feel to put my trust in him and I feel to praise his name that he has given me health I am not home sick yet nor shant be as long as I know you ar well their is no snow here to be seen people ar plowing here I plowd yeasterday / for the first time it seemed natual to hold plow except I had oxen and I have been use to horses but never mind it is all for the sake of money and you know I allwase had a natual taste for money
I like the place first rate good folks I shall allwase use Miss arnolt well for she is a nice women
 
I laid a bed this morring till 7 o clock but I get up week day morring at 4 o clock and go to bed as soon as dark I must bring my letter to a close write as soon as posable
