Dear parents & all
I have a little time so I will write you a few lines to let you know I am well and hope you are the same. You see we have moved from whare we was We started from Hearts Island last Wendesday night and got here last night We had a very nice time coming except being a little sea sick wich is the worst sickness I ever had but after I got off I felt all the better for it I feel the best now I have in one year we saild 20 hours without seeing land / I am in about 10 rods of the chesepeek Hospital whare Wane has been all sumer but he has gone to his Regiment now Mother when I got up this morning the first man I met was Henry Fuller and he was the pleastest man you ever see he made me sit down and talk with him a long time he is takeing charge of the cooking department and I see Mire gina & norman arnol & Magior Pierce we do not expect to stay here no time we may go to day & we may not go untill Monday we expect to go to Washington
 
If you could be here and see the wounded brought / in here you would say that thare is some fighting going on down here but the most of the people thinks that the war is about to an end. probily we shant see any fighting this winter for they have got to drill us I must close for this time for I have got no plase to write only to hold my paper in one hand & write with the other
 
Edwin Jordan is a writing with me he has got the same writing desk I have when I get to the place whare we shall stay then you can write perhaps you sent a letter to Hearts Island but you need not send any to me untill you get another
