John R. H. Perkins
John R. H. Perkins was born around 1836 in Connecticut. By the early 1860s, he was working as a farmer in New Haven, Connecticut.
 
He enlisted in the Union army, and he mustered in as a private in Company K of the 10th Connecticut Infantry. He was wounded near New Berne, North Carolina, on March 14, 1862. He was discharged for disability on August 14, 1864.
 
He settled in Prospect, Connecticut, after the war. He applied for a federal pension in July 1882 and eventually received one. He attended regimental reunions in the early 1900s. He died in Connecticut on August 25, 1905.
