Sir
I have this day started eight men with 100 heads of beeves, to be delivered to Genl Sibley at El paso, if you should be able to hire some persons to take them beeves up to El paso, and you should need a escort for those men, you will oblige me by ordering four of the Camp Stockton men who have the best horses, on up and let the other four return immediately to their post. I also will be obliged to you if you furnish those 4 men going up to El paso, with the necessary provisions.
