Dear Father & Mother
I will again attempt to pen a few lines in answer to one I received from you sent by wallace I was glad to hear from you wallace got back the 23 of this month so I had to have a long talk about you and Father
 
Mother we got that box yesterday noon so we took it to wallace tent and opened it and the first thing I thought of was what Bill Jordan sayd when he saw the lake I wish Father John & Hiram was here               
                      
I eat so much I could not sleep last night I tell you we had a gay old time eating out of the box we called Alfred & Olvin and that calkins that was to our house & Pet Hathaway So you see we had a regaler tan and now Mother you may as well believe I did not lack for a apatite a particle I had for my breakfast some saucuge some buiscuit and honey and fride cakes and it went well The chicken pie we are a going to have for diner to day wallace is a going to fix it and we are all / agoing to his tent and have a tan The stuff was not jamed much the aples was frozen some but not enough to hurt them we found every thing all right
 
Mother I am as tuff as a bear I was sick for a few days I had the jaunders but am all right now Edwain Jordan and Sirus came here yesterday Edy stayed with me last night he and Sy is going to put up a house to day Edy had a box come to him yesterday he and the box both got here to once wallace sayed he met wane going home on a foughlow / I should like to see him very much Mother I am very much oblige to you for that preasant you sent me and shall not forget it I should like to send you somthing but thare is nothing here to buy if they had been I should sent some thing by wallace Mother thare is good news in the papers this morning but you will see more news thare in papers than we do here I must close for the diner call has blowed now write often for I do like to read a letter from you & I should like to read some from Father but he dont write much but I shall write to him if he dont write
