Mother I got in to a hard place the night before we turned to come back I started to go after corn for my horse to a house and we had to go about 5 miles I got the corn and started to come back and they come up a thunder storm and it raind the hardest I ever saw and I got away from the rest of the boys and got lost It was in the pine woods and in a swamp I staid thare most all night for I got so turned around that I did not know which way the camp was / I might of went to a house and ust them but I guess that would not been very healthy for me for they would cut a mans throat in a minute if he was a lone
