In camp Neer Washington
May 24th 1865
Dear Mother
I will try and answer your letter wich I received some time ago but have been busy getting redy for that review and then we have mooved from whare we was when I last wrote we are in Maryland now we had our review yesterday in washington I tell you it was somthing worth seeing a worlds fair would be nothing to it Alfred and Dan has got here and most all of the reg has come I saw Eph in washington he dont look very sick I looked for wallace / but did not see him I dont know but he has gone home I hope he has I heard he was a going to get his discharge soon Mother I dont know how soon I will bee home but should not wonder if I did before long but may not till fall but that is a short time from now till fall
I forgot to say I was well and happy as a lark I cant write much to day for I have got somthing els to do but I will write a longer one next time
