Dear Father & Mother
It is with the greatest of pleasure that I write you a few lines but not in answer to any I have received from you I have not had any letter from you since I first got to Alexandria the first time and I have wrote two letters to Harriet and have not received any since I am well and hope you are the same
I have just seen Henry George and had a good visit with him he is the same old peny Mother they are making out our papers as fast as they can I dont know how soon we will be discharged but I think before long they will begin to discharge just as soon as they get the papers made out they made them out wrong the first time so they had to make them over Mother you kneed not expect many more letters for I may be / on my way to New York in two or three days that is if thare is no change in the orders I shall look for a letter from you to day I think I will get one
It is nice wether here now only very warm and mugy but I dont swet much for I dont do enough to break the Sabath I must close
