Dear Brothers
and Parents I now take time to scratch a fiew lines to you to let you know that I am well and do hope these fiew lines will find you well I am well this morning and expect to go to my Regiment soon now William I se by the papers of yestarday that thay have are a going to pay that one hundred dolars bounty that I am entitled to and I have wrote to Otis Sheapard to direct all commutations to you at Pikeville now if he gits it in a bond pay him tenn dolars as was agreed to and keep it for me now I should like to se you all first rate I tell you but as surcumstances will not admit we must hope we shall soon have peace then I can come home / I have not heard from home in over a weak but I dont know but you have wrote to me but thay dont give eney passes hear now I expect to leave to day or to marow I will drop a line to you at Pikeville and send the recipt in a letter to Scio to you William I hope you have got that money from Albny Oh! got a letter from Mahala She sed you had given her tenn dolers I am glad of it I want to hear from you very much now do the bes you can and I will William
 
Alonzo you be a good boy and mind your Mother and Father and I will bring you somthing to you when I come home Rosel I want you to be a good boy / I would like to ben to home or sent you a birth day present I will soon so good day for this time write Rosel good day Ma I should like to mad you a present yesterday but I could not as it was Ma I will try to do as you have told me so good day Pap I hope you are giting along first rate it has ben very reney hear for a fiew days the gras is started finely hear thay have plowd some I have the promis to be sent away to day I hope so we have very good living and the soft side of a board to sleep on all dos very well for a solger So good day by saying good luck to you all O R Chamberlin /
