Dear Brother I
now take time to write you a fiew lines to let you know that I am well at present and hope these fiew poorly writin lines will find you well I recived your letter yesterday and was very glad to hear that you ware all well well it is cloudy hear to day thare has ben a good deal of excitement hear thay have sent a lot of men away to day thay dont come to me yet I expect to be cald on tomorrow I am glad that you are to work at everything so thare will be somthing don well when I git seteld I will write so good day for this time this from your Brother O R C to R J C /
 
Dear Mother
I am well and hope these fiew lines will find you well my coff is better I was quite disapointed to hear that Mahala had don as she had I rather thought her mother would try to git her to go with them I got a letter from her yesterday she sed she would go back if I sed so and I wrote to her to day that I wanted her to go back and stay thare now do the best you can with her if se dos come back and use her as my wife and you shall have a sons love for it now take good care of your self and belive me your ever loving Son O R C to D G C
 
Alonzo I am glad to hear that you are a good boy I want you to be a good boy and I will bring you some thing when when I come back this from your Brother O R C to A. B. C. C. /
 
Dear Father I hope
these fiew lines will find you well I was sory to hear that you had the head acke I hope you will have good luck a giting in them loggs and with the rest of the work I am hear yet you se but thay are a husling us off very fast now so I expect to go soon now do the best you can I will write as soon as I git setteld dont write till I do we dont git but one hundred and twenty five Dolars I shall send the most of it home when I git it you must git along the bes you can so good night this time from your Son O R C

I hope these fiew lines will find you well and doing well / I have wrote two letters to you and told you not to write till you heard from me now I hope by the time this you git you will have that from the Pension Office now do the best you can and soon as I git my bounty I shall try for a discharge so do all you can till I come home and I will try to help you some now write when you hear whare I am so good night for this time
