Dear Brothers and Parents I now take time to let you know that I am well and do hope these fiew lines will find you all well and doing well I supos you have the feelds burnt and some of the crops in now I should like to hear from you all but I cannot yet I will let you know as soon as I can git your letters theare is not much news but our men have gon the left flank to bowling grean and port Royall evry thing goes to the front all of the heavy Artly is to the front I think it all up with Lea this time I hope so it is fine weather hear and warm we have good water and plenty to eat now William do as you think best about giting / lot 119 if you are shure or think surten that the Rale road will go through thare now Rosel be a good boy and Alonzo to
Ma I hop you and Mahala is giting along well and taking comfort I should like to be to home to get a meal and Pap I hope you are doing well and will rase enuff this sumer to keep us next winter So do the best all of you I will write often and let you know whare I am so good by to you all And may the Gold bless you all and may we soon meet agin good by for this time
