Dear Mother
We have halted and now I will drop you a few lines to assure you that I enjoying first rate health on the march we left Green Wood Farm day before yesterday and crossed the Rappahannock, but dont see anything of the enemy as yet. I suppose we will move on this afternoon. I received your letter Mother and was glad to hear from you. The shirts will reach me some time / this month perhaps but I am in no hurry as long as we are on the march. but the mail boy is going I must stop. write soon I will write you again the first opportunity
