Dear Mother, As I have a few moments to spare I will drop you a few lines to assure you that by the blessing of God I am enjoying excellent health. I have no time to give you a full detail of our last few days march as the mail is going out in 15 minutes. I simply wish to inform you that we are all well and the boys like active service first rate I received a letter from you while we were at South Mountain I was glad to hear you were all well I will write more the next opportunity. I hope this may find you all well May the Lord be with you and bless and protect you all

Direct as before) we are giving the enemy fits and I think you will soon hear of the total demoralization of the Rebel Army under Lee. pray for us. you wanted to know if I wasn't homesick not a once mother I have something to do besides getting homesick I didn't come down here to play. I came to save the Union, and it shall be saved. May the Lord grant a glorious victory to our arms. I now close. My love to John & enquiring friends.

Your affectionate Son Albert
with love
Sergt Albert. C Harrison

my prayers are in your behalf. ACH.
