Tuesday morning Feb 3rd/63
Dear Mother
I commenced writing you a letter Sunday & now I will finish it. I thought I would wait until I heard from you before I put it in the mail box. Gil Conover came last night and brought me a letter from you. I was very glad to hear you were so well. may God continue to bless you with good health. The Paymaster has not come yet. he was to be here today certain, but he might as well stay away for I understand he is only going to pay us six weeks wages, but as soon as we do get paid, you shall have enough to buy you a / new dress Mother, ha, ha. it is snowing again today & very cold. there is no news of any importance that I know of. you must write again soon Mother. remember me to Grandmother. I dreampt last night that I saw uncle Ben that is all I can remember of the dream. I thought he looked natural as life.
Remember me to all & accept the love of your Son
