Albert C. Harrison to Cornelia Harrison, 7 June 1863
Camp Hooker Frederick Junction
Near Frederick City, Maryland          June 7th/63

Dear Mother
As it is sabbath day and inspection is over, I will seat myself and drop you a few lines to assure you once again that your son Albert, by the blessing of God, is enjoying as of late excellent health and earnestly hopes this may find you, Dear Mother, and John, enjoying the same rich blessing such is my prayer.

There is no news in camp this morning of importance. it is a beautiful morning. I would love to be going to Church this morning but I believe it is impossible for me to get a pass as they are all taken up, so I will content myself in camp by writing and reading.

The boys are all well. Eseck is / going out today to see the fashions I dont know where he is going, to see some of the Maryland Ladies I presume. There is no War news of any account.

I was at Frederick City day before yesterday and had some strawberries and cream they are worth 14cts a quart. thats quite reasonable. I expect the New York markets are overstocked by this time It is so dry here they will not last a great while, what few there are in this vicinity.

Sergt Diblin sends his best respects Bear me in remembrance to all your neighbors and enquiring friends. I cannot write you a very lengthy letter this time as there is nothing of importance to write about. we have our too block houses nearly completed. I hope to hear from you soon. I now close with love to you and John.

Yours Truly and Affectionately
Sergt Albert C. Harrison
