My Dear Mother
I will again take my pen and drop you a few lines assuring you that I am still alive & in very good health, earnestly hoping this may find you enjoying the same rich blessing as well as all needed blessings. nothing has transpired of any account since last I wrote you or I should have written before this time.

We still lay here / and enjoy a good rest the Division has not as yet returned and I dont know when they will return. I want to see the Boys bad enough I can assure you, and besides I am anxious to get a mail which we have not had since the Division went away.

The Chaplain of the 151st New York came with transport from Baltimore day before yesterday. he said the division had gone to Washington for the purpose of taking / transportation from there as he supposed but he was not positive and dont know when they will return. he was over to see me this morning he is staying at the Supply Train. he is going to have meeting this afternoon, so I shall if I live have the pleasure of hearing him preach one of his good sermons. he is a fine man and almost like a brother to our Chaplain. They are together the most of the time when with the Division.

All is quiet before / Petersburg this morning but I expect the shovels & picks are still busy, although it is the Sabbath. I reckon this last call of Uncle Abes will kinda of stir up the ideas of the people. its the best thing thats been done in a long while. it looks like rain. I think we will get a shower. I hope so. My knee is perfectly well. give my kind regards to all anxious friends. My love to you & John & I remain your
loving Son Albert
